Westgate offers near ground-floor exposure to a pure-play, high-growth junior E&P company focused on the emerging Mannville Stack fairway in Eastern Alberta, targeting known accumulations of medium and heavy oil.

We are pursuing step-change production growth and free cash flow generation in the Mannville play using horizontal multilateral drilling techniques, which is expected by management to yield some of the strongest oil economics across Western Canada*.

Westgate intends to invest capital into production, reserves, and cash flow growth as a mechanism to enhance shareholder returns, thereby differentiating its strategy from many other energy companies that are actively returning capital to shareholders.

Management

  • Mr. Grafton has over 35 years of industry experience and has completed over $22 billion energy investment transactions. He is the Vice Chairman of Canaccord Capital Corp. and MD, Global Head of Energy at Canaccord Adams. Mr. Grafton is also the Co-Founder and MD of First Energy Capital, and a recipient of the Energy Council’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

  • Mr. Brown has over 40 years of experience in extensive Western Canadian Development and Exploitation experience. He is Founder and COO of Surge Energy Inc., and the former Chairman of the Board of Governors of EPAC. Mr. Brown also has extensive experience successfully founding and taking energy companies public.

  • Nick Grafton has over 17 years of investment, finance, and public markets experience. He is a Portfolio Manager, managing large energy portfolios, and an Investment Banker at Canaccord Genuity Corp. Mr. Grafton has also held board positions for several Canadian public companies, serving on the audit, governance and compensation committees.

  • Mr. Kevol has over 20 years of experience in the Western Canadian oil and gas sector with a background in Geology. He is the Founder/President/CEO of Blackspur Oil Corp. focused on Mannville oil in southern and central Alberta. Mr. Kevol is also the MD and CEO of Calima Energy Ltd., Co-Founder and President of Petro Uno Resources, and the Director of Source Rock Royalties.

  • Mr. Mennis has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. Founder and Vice President for Legacy Oil & Gas Inc. and grew the company from 400 boe/day at inception to over 25,000 boe/day when it was sold to Crescent Point Energy. He served as VP, Business Development and Land for Daylight Resources Trust, and was also VP, Exploration and Development for Calpine Canada.

  • Mr. Doig has 10 years of operations and development engineering at Crescent Point Energy. He has led multidisciplinary teams including Geology, Drilling, Completions, Land, Development, Facilities, and Operations teams to execute hundreds of drills.

  • Mr. Ogle has 35 years of entrepreneurial experience covering several business sectors. He is the MD of the Canadian Global Affairs Institute, a Calgary and Ottawa based foreign policy think tank. Mr. Ogle is also a board member and chairman across public, private, and not-for-profit companies with experience in all committee types including health and safety, audit, compensation and corporate governance.
